How to Add/ Edit/ Delete remote Server

UNIBOX allows the administrator to define a new remote syslog server. This feature allows the administrator to send syslog messages to a remote server for debugging and maintaining record.

To Add Remote Server

  1. Click the Tools tab.
  2. Click the New Remote Server link (in the left pane) under Remote SysLog link. Tools :: New Remote Server page appears.

Fields & Buttons

Description

Name

Enter the name of the remote server in the Name field.

Server IP

Enter the remote server IP address in the Server IP field.

Protocol

Select the protocol used for syslog from the Protocol drop down menu.

Port Number

Enter the port number of the remote server in the Port Number field.

Facility

Select the syslog facility used by the remote server from the Facility drop down menu.

Message Prefix

Enter the prefix for the syslog message for the remote server in the Message Prefix field.

More Filtering

Select the More Filtering check box to define various filters to reduce the syslog messages going to the server.

Note: More Filtering check box is not active for “All” option in Facility drop down menu.

Submit

Click Submit to save the changes.

To Edit Remote Server settings

  1. Click the Tools tab.
  2. Click the List Remote Server link (in the left pane) under Remote SysLogs link. Tools :: List Remote Server page appears.
  3. Click the name of the remote server in the table. Tools :: Edit Remote Server page appears.
  4. Make the necessary changes.
  5. Click Update button to update and save the changes.

 

To Delete Remote Server

  1. Click the Tools tab.
  2. Click the List Remote Server link (in the left pane) under Remote SysLogs link. Tools :: List Remote Server page appears.
  3. Click the name of the remote server in the table. Tools :: Edit Remote Server page appears.
  4. Click the Delete Remote Server link (in the left pane). Tools :: Delete Remote Server page appears.
  5. Click Delete Remote Server Delete confirmation pop up appears.
  6. Click Delete button.
