How to configure and manage APs

Manage Aps

When you add a new AP, the values entered in the General Settings page, SSIDs page, Radius page, and Miscellaneous page are the default values for the new AP added. You can override the settings value even after the AP is added.

Note: When you click on New Access Point tab, you will be redirected to New Access Point tab in Access Point link under Authentication link (in the left pane).

  1. Click Manage APs link under AP Management drop down link (in the left pane). AP Management page appears. You can view the list of APs in the table.

Fields & Buttons

Description

+ Button

Click the + button in the first column of the table to view the information (Date when the AP added, and the status) of the AP. The information is displayed below.

Node Name

Node Name field displays the node name of the AP.

MAC Address

MAC Address field displays the MAC address of the AP.

Status

Status field displays the status of the AP. There are 3 types of status:

·         Not checked in: The AP is connected, but still not communicated with the device.

·         Up: The AP is up and working

·         Down: The AP is not working

Action

The Action field displays and the user can:

·         Monitor: Click Monitor button, you will be redirected to the AP Dashboard. You can view the details of the AP.

·         Configure: Click Configure button, you will be redirected to the General Configuration page of the AP Configuration wizard. Make the necessary changes, and click Submit to save the changes.

·         Remove: Click Remove button, you will be redirected to the Delete Access Point page in Access Point link under Authentication link (in the left pane). Click the red Delete button to delete the AP.
