How to configure Wireless Port Settings

To configure Wireless Port Settings

  1. Click Network
  2. Click the Ports link (Under Network tab).
  3. Click the Wireless Port link (in the left pane). Network :: Wireless Port Settings page appears.
  4. Select Enable Wireless check box to enable wireless access point.
  5. Select 11b from the Network Type drop down menu. Select 802.11g form Network Type drop down menu for higher bandwidth.
  6. Enter the wireless network name in the Network Name (SSID) The network name should be alphanumeric character string of the length of 1 -32.
  7. Select appropriate wireless channel from the Wireless Channel drop down menu.
  8. Click Disable SSID Broadcast check box to hide SSID from your clients.
  9. Select the type of security form from the Security Type drop down menu. The options are:
  • Open: Open Authentication mechanism, pre-shared key is not required.
  • WEP: Wired Equivalent Privacy
  • WPA Personal: Wifi protected access with pre-shared key.
  • WPA2 Personal: Wifi protected access 2 with pre-shared key.
  1. Select 64 or 128 bits encryption length (only for WEP) from the Encryption drop down menu.
  2. Enter a valid pre-shared key according to selected security protocol. The options are:
  • Open: Pre-shared key is not required.
  • WEP (64 bit): Key should be alphanumeric character of the length 5 or the sequence of 10 digits.
  • WEP (128 bit): Key should be alphanumeric character of the length 13 or the sequence of 26 digits.
  • WPA Personal: Key should be alphanumeric character of the length 8 or the sequence of 63 digits.
  • WPA Personal 2: Key should be alphanumeric character of the length 8 or the sequence of 63 digits.
